Third part of my photo-series with Rachel Nordtømme I did in the beginning of February. Makeup-artist and hair was done by Line Sofie Steinfinsbø.

Yesterday I was at Kos Bar&Lounge and Club Vega for Hipster.no. It was a bit stress full, but I got to meet quite a few interesting people that was having a nice evening. The pictures are being post-processed by a Hipster and are coming on-line Monday morning.
Traveling again
Tickets for both Oslo and Århus is now payed. I am going to stay in Oslo for three days photographing Truls Svendsen and hopefully Rachel Nordtømme for my assignments at Norsk Fotofagskole. I’ll be back next Wednesday with my hard drive packed with raw-material for post processing.

This weekend I was covering Kos Bar&Lounge and Vega Club in Trondheim for Hipster.no with my camera. A lot of people out having a great time this Saturday, as usual. Head over to Hipster.no’s homepage to see the pictures.
If you are looking for inspiration on what to wear next weekend going out, I believe Hipster.no is the place to start looking. Hundreds of pictures of both girls and boys dressed up for the weekend. It is just another manic Monday, but why not start early, as with Christmas presents.

The Sinar F2 on location. This is the last part of my series with the camera, both in studio and location for now. The series was taken during the photo marathon we had at school.
Photographing for Hipster.no

Tonight I am hitting the cinema to watch Tron: Legacy with my friend Sascha Njaa before visiting Kos Bar&Lounge at 00:00 and Vega Club at 01:00. Dress up, put on the happy face and get photographed.

photo: Bjørn Christiansen, The Eye of Providence - Plate and fruit version
It’s Friday, the last evaluation of this week. In an hour my teacher will see my product photo of a fancy plate from Interia with a single grape on it. The composition is more or less inspired by Eye of Providence because of it’s simplicity and graphical impact. I have played with light and shadow to give the composition dramaturgy and an edge instead of shooting it with flat lighting. I am also inspired by the photo done by Horst P. Horst, Paprika # something.
Weekend already planned
Today we will get another assignment that we are going to work with this weekend and will be more extensive than the three that we already shot. I also have two other shoots, one a secret surprise that I won’t write about yet on Saturday, and one band photo with a rock- / metal-band on Sunday. I also have this little, fun gimmick for Hipster.no, this time not only at Vega Club, but also at Vivaldiz, not far from Vega. In short, my weekend is packed with photo, the way I like it.
Have a nice Friday, enjoy my photographs.

If you want photograph for Hipster.no you can check out their article with my pictures in. They are looking for good photographers who want to do this kind of work. Foto: Bjørn Christiansen, pack shot test of Gastromat
So school started today with a meeting with the headmaster informing about what is happening this spring. The 14th of February we are going on a school excursion to Marrakesh doing documentary work I guess, and we will be back around the 19th. Also we started the first course this year, photo-marathon for about three weeks. This first assignment is a pack-shot of Gastromat, an all Norwegian spice-mix that has been around for about 50 years. The pack-shot is supposed to be of a commercial dimension with a soup an assortment to the pack-shot. I’ve added a test photo of how I want my picture to come out, finding the right angels and the right lighting before entering the studio tonight doing both the soup and the box. When I’m done testing I’ll have some lunch before I go hunt for a proper soup bowl to go with the box, find a backdrop that will be more clean and at last make the soup.
This picture is natural lit from the window and a reflector about 45 degrees to the left of the box and the bowl.
This weekend I am going to do some editorial work for the Norwegian web magazine Hipster.no and i just got off the phone with Pia, my new boss. She had some really great plans for Trondheim by covering up to three night clubs and lounges, and also some events. Hang out on Vega this weekend and have your picture taken :)
You might have noticed that I suddenly have began writing in English. This is a part of my “renewal” this year, hoping to reach out to more photographers world wide. A bold attempt, but worth a shot. Also I need to practice my English so it is a great opportunity to exerciser on my blog.
