Here are the two test images from a photo shooting I had to Maren Elise Aasen Trend Models in Trondheim. I wanted to test out the location for a further idea that I work with, but that is not quite finished yet planned. Mary did a great job posing as the lonely and abandoned in a desert landscape. The mountains of gravel and stone are probably from the new Strindheim-tunnel they are building in Trondheim. Perfect for a post-apocalyptic series.

Today I was with Iris Skolefoto A/S in Egg Primary School to photograph my first group of pictures of all the steps. First school photo in years. It was fun to be back at work in this industry. Tomorrow, the trip to Steinkjer Secondary School, Department Egge and portrait photography from 8 am until late afternoon.

Friday will be hopefully a group picture before I’ll shoot a couple of concerts at Pstereo Festival in Trondheim, and I look very forward to. The artists and bands I photograph is Therese Aune, Bendik and Glasser.

A few weeks ago I had a photo shoot with Maren Elise Aasen from Trend Models in a backyard in my neighbourhood. I photographed mainly for exercise’s sake, but also because Maren Elise needed new images to the folder’s. Maren Elise has been with Trend Models since 2009 and we’ve had a lot of photo shoots with the two years I have been at Norsk Fotofagskole. The first time I photographed her was during a course organized by Fotopia.no. If you’re interested you can find the photos from that photo shoot HERE: Fotoshoot Med Maren Elise Aasen.

Photographing for

Iris Skolefoto A/S

Iris Skolefoto A/S

Today I started on my new three-month job as a school photographer for the Iris Skolefoto A/S. This is not an unknown territory when I was a few years ago before I started studying atNorsk Fotofagskole, I photographed for one of the nation’s largest school photography agencies, Fovea A/S.
Today got to be familiar with the equipment and software we will use at work, the company and got to know who we will be working with these three months. Tomorrow we’ll have a bit more photo-drilling before we go out on a school on Monday to make it practical even more practical.

Today I had a photo shoot with Maren Elise Aasen (Trend Models in my neighbourhood, Lademoen and Lademoparken. Here are one behind the scenes-shot that I did while Maren was getting her make-up and hair done, and the other picture is a portrait from the last location today. I shot every frame with only the sun and a reflector as light source.

Here are, I believe to be, the last two pictures from my editorial fashion series from Bårdshaug Herregård in Orkdal. The two models are Maren Elise Aasen and Unni Lund Olsen, both from Trend Models which is the local model agency here in Trondheim. The makeup artist is Tina Larsen from fstyle.blogg.no.
These two pictures is outtakes that didn’t make it to the final editorial fashion series that I shot for Kvit Magazine, an assignment at school in November / December 2010. The reason that these to pictures didn’t make it was because they were different in lighting style. I originally went for a natural lit picture with a lot of flare and since this is lit with a flash it didn’t give the series that romantic, natural and Norwegian feel that I was going for.
Dresses are borrowed from BikBok where the one that Unni is wearing is from the Jenny Skavlan for BikBok – collection. Shoes are borrowed from Bianco Footwear and the other accessories are bought at H&M.

Lighting the scene

In these two photos I’ve only used one flash, an Elinchrom RX600 with a octabank with just one filter in front to give harden the shadows.

Todays tasks

We are still having this photo marathon at school and this weekends assignment was making a poster for Trondheim Jazzfest which is a jazz festival in May. I don’t feel this assignment is going that well. Lack of inspiration and ideas for any photo as well as trouble finding studio time gives me headache. I have a model, a makeup artist and the smallest studio at school doing a beauty portrait this afternoon, but I’m not sure if it will make it as a poster on this springs festival.

Also Trondheim Kickboxing Klubb is starting up their classes for this spring today. It’s only rookies and experienced fighters that have their class today, the beginners course doesn’t start until next Monday, the 17th of January.
