This spring I was given the task of photographing a toaster branded Dualit as a part of my final exam at Norsk Fotofagskole, here are some pictures I took to this assignment. Not the most exciting subject to photograph, but very challenging. Shiny steel, round, shiny sides reflect the entire studio and all its surroundings, which meant we had to take some small steps to conceal the reflections and make the toaster so shiny and clean as possible.
A neat trick is to use a white, large bed sheet, span it between two light stands to conceal the surrounding environment. Also make sure you have an assistant who can help you out setting up the rig, cleaning the props that you are photographing, brings you coffee and keeping the spirit up after four or five hours of shooting. Thank you Ane Aspén!
