This is the fifth and last part from the series I shot with Jennifer Hansen, Modelbureauet Modelbooking in Ã…rhus. These shots are photographed in the corner of the daylight studio I rented at Christina Lykke’s Skyderiet.dk. and is lit with one flash aimed towards the roof. To get some contrast in the photo I had a big, black blanket which I have span between two light stands and positioned right behind me. Stylist on this shoot was Malene Micha Juhl. Working with both these fantastic people was fun and exciting.

Yesterday I did a model test with Charite Viken an artist known from her early years as a child star from Melody Grand Prix Junior. In recent years she has become more adult in the style of music and is now working at Agape in addition to working as a songwriter. She is also represented by the newly established model agency DP-Models ran by photographer Ronny Manuel Danielsen. Hair and make-up on this photo shoot was done by Ann Karin Williams Aastø from www.OurStyle.org.

Last night I photographed the Smorgasbord of Kreativt Forum in Trondheim where they had hired an artist group that played a mix of children’s songs and techno. I did not quite grasp what it did, but it was good entertainment and they were very photogenic on stage wearing their headdresses.

Rasmus Michelsen, model testing for Modelbureauet Modelbooking in Ã…rhus. Clothes and manbag are supplied by [ei`kon]. The color of the wall behind the model gives the full image a warm and nice touch in contrast to his blue eyes and jeans. The style is a bit lumberjack meets hipster. Orbis Ring Flash

On this particular part of the job I did for OI I used a flash modifier called a ring flash from OrbisFlash.com. It is suppose to make a soft light with a soft shadow behind the subject. It did work on some of the photos I shot, but not everything. I had the flash set to TTL 0 – -0,3 and sometimes -0,7. As with regular auto-flash-settings you will get some difference in exposures depending on what people wear and the ambient lighting. The camera was set to a shutter of 1/125 sec, the aparture at f/3.5 and the ISO at 400. I am going to experiment a bit more with this flash upgrade to find out how much power is needed to get a decent exposure on a 35mm lens. If somebody knows some manual sweet-spot-setting, please let me know.
