One of the models I photographed last autumn for Model Booking, Rasmus Michelsen, is competing in X-Factor Denmark. The premiere starts at 20:00 tonight at DR1. Here are a short interview and a sneak preview with Rasmus.

Bjørn Christiansen er mannen bak (eller foran) portrettet over, og det er et portrett med skikkelig smell i. Det kunne så lett ha sklidd ut i klisjeer og svulstighet – posituren, blikket, det lave kamerastandpunktet, svart-hvitt, etc – men holder seg hele tiden på akkurat rett side av det, og dermed sitter det som et skudd. Signaturen forstyrrer dessverre en del – den er stor og lys og tiltrekker seg dermed blikket litt i overkant mye – men heldigvis ikke nok til å ødelegge bildet.

Rasmus Michelsen, model testing for Modelbureauet Modelbooking in Århus. Clothes and manbag are supplied by [ei`kon]. The color of the wall behind the model gives the full image a warm and nice touch in contrast to his blue eyes and jeans. The style is a bit lumberjack meets hipster. Here are two pictures from the test shots I did of Rasmus Michelsen from Modelbureauet ModelBooking in Aarhus. The pictures are taken in the old town on a fairly busy street corner. The sun was going down and our lights were about to disappear, but I managed to get some pictures of the last outfit we had planned. Suppliers of clothes for this male fashion photo shoot was the clothing store [ei`con] situated right next to the cathedral in Århus. If you are in town, check out their store.

Testing with Rasmus Michelsen from Modelbureauet Modelbooking, this is the second part of the series I did with him. Still in down town Århus doing male fashion with clothes from [ei'kon]. For these shots I mainly used a Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 lense for the open shots and a wide-angle 35mm f/2.0 for the ones by the wall.
All pictures are natural lit by a soft cloud cover that lay across Århus. This particular light gives the images a soft contrast that I like very much.

Rasmus Michelsen is represented by model agency Modelbureauet Model Booking, located in Århus . Rasmus has worked as a model for several years with a small short stay. We borrowed clothes from Ei’kon, a clothing store in Århus which we also used as a base, and worked on location in the area around the cathedral, for they who are known. We were lucky with the weather, light breeze with a heavy layer of clouds. The day before it was pouring down and windy.

On this particular shot I worked mainly with the 35mm f/2.0 and 50mm f/1.4, Nikon, throughout the entire photo shoot, sometimes with the help of a small reflector and then.
